ONWARDS TO 2018

It’s a new year, so usually we see a lot of people listing off their new year’s resolutions…I, however, do not believe in those. I want to keep in mind a few goals for this year (which sounds like a new year’s resolution, but it is in fact, very different, I promise). For me, new year’s resolutions seem temporary and I’m looking for more of all-time goals: goals that I’m still finishing up and new goals I want to work towards. So below are a few of the goals I want to work on this year:

1. BE HEALTHIER

I've had a knee problem for a looooonggg time that zapped my athletic abilities down the drain and since then I haven't been as healthy with my body! Although I've been hunkering down the past few months, I still want to build more strength in my body and I want to choose healthier food options in my life.

2. FINISH MY BOOK

If you didn't know...I like to write, a lot. And in July, my cousin (a fellow writer) and I made a pact to finish our first drafts by December 31st, 2018.

3. READ & SHOOT

I used to be an avid reader. I could read a whole series in less than a week. I've always loved reading so I hope I can pick up books more often! If you have any recommendations let me know!! I also want to take more pictures again. I took a lot of photos when I was in Comm Photo, but now that I do not have weekly assignment, it's hard to take more photos! So, I hope I make more room for the things I love with all my heart.

4. BE ME

This year I will be transitioning from senior year to college. It will be a pivotal moment in my life where I independently go off and create who I am in the world (or who I've always been). So, I hope that no matter what obstacles or opportunities come my way, that I choose not to lose sight of who I am and what I want out of life!

I hope everyone had a Happy New Year!!!! 2017 was one of the most heartwarming and breathtaking years for me, and I am excited to see what's in store for 2018!!!!!!!!

“I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. He taught me that if you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it at full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good. Hot is no good either. White hot and passionate is the only thing to be.” ― Roald Dahl, My Uncle Oswald
